A valuable team member working alongside Jen as part of the team for  2 years Stewart has 19 years’ experience in the building industry as a quantity surveyor and during this time Stewart gained a reputation for successfully delivering projects in various sectors which have been obtained through a variety of procurement routes.

Stewart has predominately worked in the Health, Education, Local Authority, Retail, Residential and Commercial sectors.

Stewart enjoys tendering and carrying out estimates on new projects and enjoys taking jobs from inception to planning, through to final account stage.

As a quantity surveyor, Stewart always works closely with Jen and the operational team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget and thus, is a highly regarded and very well respected member of the team.

Core duties and abilities; · Carry out site visits · Carry out a full measure of proposed works · Prepare the schedule of works · Source subcontract/material enquiries and prices · Prepare a full cost estimate/price tender · Compile unit rates where needed · Prepare programme of works · Attend prestart meetings · Prepare tender documents · Hold progress meetings with clients/subcontractors · Assisting with PQQ’s · Attending tender interviews · Value variations as projects are on site · Manage and oversee a team of quantity surveyors, estimators and trainees · Cost reporting · Build client relationships · Prepare valuations · Prepare and agree final accounts · Place material/subcontract orders · Look for value engineering opportunities · Ensure health and safety documents in place · Prepare O & M manuals · Snag projects prior to handover · Assist client with feasibility studies · Provide tender and cost analysis · Agree supplier accounts and discounts · Collate material samples/charts · Hold interviews with new employees · Carry out weekly meetings with our team · Carry out any necessary operative disciplinary meetings.

Qualifications;

Stewart holds a current CSCS card, also holds the CITB SMSTS qualification and is asbestos awareness trained.

Stewart has a first class honours degree in Commercial Management & Quantity Surveying from Wolverhampton University, where he studied on a day release basis (2007-2011).

Stewart achieved a distinction in HNC Building Studies, also from Wolverhampton University, where he studied on a day release basis (2005-2007).

Stewart holds foundation and intermediate level qualifications from the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

Overseeing all commercial aspects of the business, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Main duties are managing team of quantity surveyors and estimators, controlling the quality and quantity of enquiries coming into the office and adjudicating all tenders leaving the office. £2.2m – Premier Inn Refurbishments, UK; overseeing refurbishment of full hotels to various sites in the UK bringing them up to the latest specification on a national rollout programme.

£4.5m –Decent Homes; Kitchen and Bathrooms programme; refurbishment carried out throughout the North West for various housing associations carried out under the PFA framework.

£550k – Lobby Refurbishment, Aintree Hospital; Refurbishment project to create a new café area at one of the main entrances to the hospital in a live environment.

£1.8m – Care Home Refurbishments, 3 sites in the North West; Remodelling of the existing homes and creation of new bedrooms and kitchen areas, project was carried out in a live environment.

£1.6m – Park Road Day Nursery, Spark Hill, Birmingham; Construction of a new ‘Sure Start’ children’s centre which consisted of demolition of the existing day nursery and construction of a new building to the existing primary school.

£1.5m – Fox Holies Centre, Acocks Green, Birmingham; Construction of a brand new ‘Sure Start’ children’s centre.

£255k – Castle Vale Primary School, Birmingham; Construction of a new ‘Sure Start’ children’s centre which consisted of remodelling the existing areas and an extension to the existing primary school.
